Hawaiian Moments

Just to warn you…this video is not for the faint of heart. If you are prone to seizures, I’d reccomend not watching this one. It’s a video of most of the photos taken during my Hawaii trip (not all 772 are in the video). And yes, they are all still photos. There’s no video clips in this.

Italy Book

In July 2010 I ended my study abroad in Switzerland and traveled down to Italy where I met up with my sisters, Joella and Natalia, to take a 2 week giro d’Italia. While there we decided we should make a book of our pictures so we can remember it. Here we are almost two years later and I have finally done it (thanks to a little bit of a push from my sister). It was a fun trip down memory lane and I can’t wait to go back to Italy again. My wife also decided that we need to make a book about our memories of Switzerland together. So that will be another project coming up that is two years late. Here are a few samples of the photos and layout for the Italy book.

Hawaiian Cinemagraph

Dora and Christal Cinemagraph

Recently I discovered a website that I thought was really cool. It’s cinemagraphs.com. The thing I really like about this is that these are not just your typical animated gifs. These instead are great photographs that have subtle movements isolated to only one area which places an emphasis on the subject. So I thought I’d give this a try. This image is not necessarily the best photo, but this was more for me to learn the technical aspects of this. Thanks to Christal and Dora for being my models for this scenic cinemagraph in Hawaii.

Sicilian Photoshop

For my birthday some of my siblings decided to give me a canvas print of a photo I’ve taken. So it has taken me awhile to decide on a photo to use but I finally decided on this one of a boat sitting along the Cefalu, Italy beach. However, there were so many beach umbrellas and people in the background I didn’t think it was the best for a large print. So I decided to put my photoshop skills to use and fix it up. This is the side by side comparison, can you spot the difference?

The Wedding

A few weeks ago I got married. My sister in law took our original engagement pictures and they turned out great. But they just didn’t match the style we were going for. So Dora and I decided to go take some pictures on our own. So we went a few places and I set the camera up on a tripod and snapped our photos with a wireless camera remote. This was the image we used for our invites.

I also made a video to display during our reception. Most of the filming was done by me. And some was done by my sister when we went to visit her in Washington.

Swiss Collage

This is an image I made for my website about Switzerland. You can see the site by clicking here.

This image is compiled entirely of pictures I took during my study abroad in Switzerland last summer. I loved Switzerland and can’t wait until I can go back.

Here are some of the images I used to compile this collage. I used so many different ones that I’m just giving you a small sample of them to give an idea of just how much went into this.
