For one of my classes I am taking this semester I had to put together a 2 minute montage video. Normally I really hate cold weather but love seeing beautiful photographs of snowy scenes. So on Saturday morning I woke up early and captured some footage and a few still photographs as well. Then I gathered up some older footage and put together this little video. I’m still trying to warm up from all that cold weather.
Yesterday my nieces and nephews braved the cold weather and went sledding. The fact that we couldn’t find any sleds didn’t stop them. They made use of Grandma and Grandpa’s snowshovels instead.
This last weekly project was to design a one line logo for the London Olympics. We decided to broaden that scope and pick any olympic location. So I chose St. Moritz, Switzerland. So the design was supposed to be just one continuous line and I started that with the St. part of the name. But then I failed miserably with the rest and just did a design that was obviously inspired by the requirements but didn’t completely follow through with them. So this is what I came up with. Maybe at some point I’ll take this beyond a wordmark and add a graphic logo as well.
Here is my Strada site. You can visit it by clicking here. There are still a few minor changes I need to make. But other than that, this is pretty much the final product. Overall, I am pretty happy with it. I just need to finish designing the all the skis.
Today I came up with my initial design concept for a Strada T-Shirt. There’s still a bit more work to finalize it, but this is the initial set up for it.
Now that I have a set logo, I have been able to make a few tweaks to my website design. The red works so much better than the blue that I had before. I’m really excited to get this site actually up and running.
Now that I had completed the logo design, I needed to continue branding the identity of the company with a complete business system.
After working out many of the kinks to the previous design. I am happy to display this mark as my final. It is the end of the design process for this mark but there is still much to do for the brand. Look for web, poster, catalog, t-shirt, and ski designs coming soon.
Even though I still haven’t completely finished working with the logo, I started putting together some ideas for the website. I decided to test using blue instead of the red that I had generally stuck with.
Out of all the designs I had come up with, I felt like this design was the one that fit what I was really looking for the best. I love the form of the ‘s’ and how it feels more like a mountain than the others. There is still a lot that needs to happen to this to make it look good. A lot of little tweaks and changes, but I think this is a good start.
